After successfully exiting Dell Computer Corporation with a strong background in sales, training, team-building and marketing to Hispanics for all of North America, Eric Esquivel moved back to the Lowcountry to make his family business soar -- his father's Hispanic heritage has always intrigued him. Eric grew up cross­culturally in Colombia and the U.S. from the day he was born, and he spent two of his undergraduate years studying abroad in Spain and Central America respectively; bringing his passion for all things Latino to the business and his life. La Isla Magazine was founded by Eric and his two siblings immediately after Eric finished his undergraduate degree in 1998. La Isla quickly became a trusted ally for the Hispanic community, business leaders. government agencies and non­government officials who were trying to harness the new Hispanic market. La Isla Magazine is a national award winning publication for the past seven consecutive years, whose work continues by bridging cultural barriers, helping Latinos integrate into American society, and guiding businesses to increase their market share through Hispanic talent acquisition. logistics and infrastructure. Fifteen years of success demonstrates what La Isla Magazine has been able to develop through a grass-roots commitment to educating, informing, and empowering individuals and communities while providing services by introducing our mainstream community and La Isla clients to the new Hispanic - American - Super - Consumer.
